Volunteering with the SSC
Get involved with the SSC! We offer many opportunities to get participate with all our student-led initiatives, from one-time volunteer events to term or year-long leadership development program. Volunteer opportunities can range from working at the Produce Drops with our Food Justice team, planting pollinator friendly habitat around campus, getting your hands dirty at the Grove Garden, engaging with the Eugene community through our Environmental Justice program, river clean ups with our Habitat Restoration team, facilitating activities that help reduce climate anxiety, handing out reusable goods, or teaching people about waste reduction. Check out our events calendar below for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
SSC Leadership and Engagement Program
Students who want to get involved with the SSC also have the option to become a part of the SSC’s Leadership and Engagement Program. Students who participate will be trained on sustainability and program-specific skills and knowledge, as well as receive leadership and project management/development training. Students who participate will have a scheduled time to work with one of the SSC programs each week (depending on availability) and will get to work with a team of other students who are interested in the same area of focus (food, garden, restoration, etc.). The LEP is accepting volunteers for this term and academic year! Fill out our volunteer interest form to be notified about our upcoming LEP orientations.
